She doesn't do anything small. A box of peaches cost $23. However, a box of very overripe peaches cost $5. So Grandma Kay came home with a box of peaches that needed immediate attention. She spent several hours making peach jam (pictures). The next day she decided to see if the little corner fresh produce stand had anymore. She went back and lo and behold there were two more boxes. Unbeknownst to her, the son of the woman the stand had seen Mom the day before and recognized her as the "Hope of America lady."(She still gets that quite often from people in the valley.) He had run to get a pen to get her autograph the day before, but mom was gone when he came back. So he was delighted that she had returned. When his mom saw that this was THE "Hope of America Lady" she gave Mom 2 boxes of over ripe peaches for $5. Mom was delighted, both that she is still the Hope of America Lade and with two boxes of peaches. Does this Lady knows how to get a good deal or what!? And we're in for a lot of yummy peach smoothies and peach jam in the future :-).
