Haircuts (and a new noodle game)

I decided that the boys needed haircuts today.  I bought some clippers several months ago and wanted to try them out.   I want to learn how to cut the boys' hair, but from past experience (where they almost had to be tied down) at cutting their hair with scissors I wasn't sure how well this would go.  I armed myself with suckers for both boys and got started.  I didn't get a before picture of Daniel (except for earlier in the day when he had come up with a noodle smashing game... those pictures are further down in the post).  He did NOT like the clippers, but the sucker was enough of bribe to get him to hold still enough.  He's such a sweet boy!

This "before" picture of Oliver is from a few days before his haircut.  His hair started out longer and had grown faster than both the other two Littles.  This was his first haircut, so we did keep a little lock.  He's not even 11 months old yet and look at this little ragamuffin with his hair in his eyes

I couldn't decide on an "after" shot.  He looks so different to me.  Bigger.  I'm not sure I like him looking bigger all of the sudden.  He also did NOT like his haircut.  Matt had to hold his head against his chest while Oliver squawked and squirmed and eventually was screaming.  But he, too, was soothed by some Smarties.

Kate was feeling left out and wanted a haircut (she may or may not have been solely compelled by the treats that apparently accompany haircuts) so she got one as well.  Look at her long locks!

So, earlier on the day Daniel got his hair cut he was wondering around a little BB (Bored and Bugging others).  He'd been hammering on a everything until it got taken away.  When he asked if it was time for him to get it back I said yes, but came up with a on-the-spot game to try and give him a place he could hammer "appropriate" things... like uncooked noodles.  He picked out a rock and I got him some noodles and he hammered away.  The noodles would really shatter, giving the activity a more dramatic flare than intended.
