Someone is THREE!! How can this be?!?! We celebrated our Kathryn Elaine a few weeks after her birthday (she didn't seem to mind to much) when I was a little less pregnant. She was most excited about the cupcakes with sprinkles but was happy to wait until after her gourmet meal of macaroni & cheese, tater tots with ketchup, and grapes. She helped put the sprinkles... if you look closely you might be able to guess which cupcakes she sprinkled :)
She has recently been loving a little show called Sofia the First. She gets to watch a show while I do her hair in the morning and that is always what she chooses. I didn't realize it was a Disney princess for a while. It's cute. The company Robyn works for, Little Adventures. makes dress up clothes for kids. She's given Kate several (including about a dozen fluffly tutus) dresses, including a purple Sofia dress. So for Kate's birthday I got her two CDs to listen to in the car, one of Sofia and another of Ariel, and some Sofia shoes to go with her dress. They have several songs each and then tell the story of the princess. She was super excited and put the shoes on immediately and clicked her way around the kitchen (the little rubber heel of one shoe was missing, so they click as she walks).
This little lady is nearly bursting at the seams to learn and play and laugh and "do it myself!" She still tells everyone her name is "Happy" which I just love. She started doing that from the time she started talking. She's very interested in her new littlest brother, often giving him kisses and putting toys, blankets, and/or binkies next to him in the swing. She loves to talk and ask questions, lots and lots of questions. She also knows how to throw a fit, yes she does. She will be starting preschool in about a week and boy is she excited! We got her potty trained a few months ago and that was the main motivation... "You can't go to preschool if you wear a diaper." I can't believe that we're to that point already. I know it's silly, but I feel like this is the beginning of the end - once they are in school life seems to speed up and before you know it they are in college.
I love this little soul more than words can express. I feel a a burst of joy each morning as I go into their room and am greeted with little rosy cheeks, "Mama!" and a big hug. It's reliving a dream every day. Happy Birthday, Happy :) We love you so!!
