Timpanogos Temple

With Amy turning 12 this month we wanted to go to the temple and do baptisms.  What a wonderful day.  I felt it was a significant milestone for our family.  There was some rush and grumpy before we actually got into the temple, but then everything seemed to slow down and the peace settled in.  Matt had really worked to make this happen, making sure the kids had their recommends and clothes and nothing else scheduled.  He also has been working for the last few months on getting family names temple-ready, from the Sarah Jane Bowne line.  Emily helped with that as well, which was fun to see.  Emily organized the cards that each of the kids did so that they were doing sibling groups and/or parents and siblings (as much as possible).

Amy was a little nervous.  We talked about how everything in the temple is symbolic.  The white clothes.  The oxen that the baptismal font sits on.  Baptism by immersion.  It was a very sweet experience to chat with her and sit by her in the peaceful happy of the temple.

My favorite part of the whole experience was watching Matt.  He is such a good dad and loves his children in ways they don't yet understand.  Emily asked to go last so she could watch Matt baptize Tyler and Amy.  Matt hugged each of the kids as he finished baptizing them.  It made me think of the families that were beginning the process of making covenants that would allow them to be together.  It also was a reminder of how grateful I am to be sealed to Matt.  We are eternally linked.  Happy Day.

We wanted to take a picture to remember the day.  That turned out to be a bit of a challenge.  The camera wasn't cooperating and the woman we stopped had a hard time telling us when she was taking the picture.  In the end, we didn't get a single good one of all of us.  But we did get the following:

We did get this photo.  Sure love these kids.  It was a good, good day.
