A Zipping We Will Go!

You know those "Starving Student Cards" that have a bazillion price reductions written in microscopic print on an accordion folded paper?

Well, when our Kotter cousins came to Utah for a visit they got a fantastic deal on them seeing as it's late in the year, they expire soon, and the Kotters needed seven.  They left the cards for us when they left and we decided to cash in on the Zip Line discount.  It's a new company that just opened up Provo canyon.  There were 5 or 7 (I can't remember now) lines and took about an hour to get the whole group through.

We called around to see if anyone wanted to join us and so along came the Bensons and our good friend Josh and his son Tolton. We first headed into the trailer to get our gear (please note Caroline in the top right of the collage...):

They took the smaller kids to a little practice zip line to show them how to hook on and stop.

Then we loaded up in this big jeep and made our way to the first platform.

The discount ended up not being as awesome as we had thought so since Kate was only 2 months old and Caroline wasn't sure how the twins would do, we opted for the one-time-free-zip and then hung out at the base.  Turns out the owners were a family who's daughters were in the same grades and Caroline and I.  One of the daughters was there, so we chatted while we waited.  Here I am on my free-zip!  Weeee...

I traded Matt the camera for Kate and asked him to take a bunch of pictures.  They seemed to have a really good time.

Tyler's cool.  See...

Piper got stuck in the middle of a zip and had to be rescued.

Twice.

Jess Andrew.  He's big at heart.

Johno waiting for the signal (two taps on the wire) that it was safe to go.

Amy was super excited!  She's got a streak of thrill-seeker in her.

Here's a video of her zipping!

The last zip line goes right past the parking area so as Caroline and I were chatting we heard a distant "HI MOM!" and looked up to see Johno flying by.  We watched each one come through, smiling and waving excitedly.  We had thrown together a picnic and headed to Vivian Park afterwards.  I love days like this.  Fun. Together. Happy.
