Dear Daddy (day 3)

Dear Daddy,
Today we had company for breakfast, Grandma Cornish and Uncle Reid.  AND it was chocolate milk Tuesday, so we had a great morning.

Kate found a purple princess dress in her closet and stated, "A princess needs and princess dress and cro-own!"  Yes, indeed, that is what every princess needs.  So the morning was spent outside playing with Daniel in said purple princess dress and crown.

Dear Daddy (day 1)

Daddy left for a trip to Vanuatu yesterday (Saturday, 28 March 2015) and will be gone for two weeks plus a few.  So I'm making some blog posts about what we're up to while he's gone so he can read about it when he gets home.
First of all, it turns out that I miss him already... a lot.  Saturday was spent cleaning things up, keeping the kids entertained and preoccupied until bedtime. I got

Loving

Kate just saw this picture in our closet and said, "Look! It's you and daddy loving."

I do sho enjoy loving this husband of mine.

Miracles do happen...

I've actually been doing pretty well at keeping up on laundry the last two months or so (knock on wood). However this is a first... all laundry baskets are empty! The kids basket in the bedroom, our baskets in the closet, the upstairs baskets, ALL empty.  I'm well aware that there will be dirty clothes in these baskets by this evening, but I'm going to enjoy this moment and record it for my posterity (ok, I'm actually just recording it for me, but that's a good thing, too!)

Father's Day 2013

Father's day.  I have a wonderful father myself and am now married to another fantastic father.  What a tremendous blessing it is to have these good men in my life.  Sometimes holidays like this are a challenge because I don't always know how to express my gratitude to the one(s) being honored.  It seems that the everyday gratitude are as meaningful (if not more so) than the one-day-holiday.  That being said, it is fun to celebrate these wonderful men.

Dad spoke in sacrament meeting about fathers.  It was a wonderful talk.  He shared things he learned from his father and from other ancestors.  I asked for a copy.

This year we had the happy surprise of Uncle Brett being in town over Father's Day weekend.  That kind of stinks for him, since he was away from his family, but super fun for us!!  Caroline had a great idea to write Tufa to ask his kids what they liked about their dad.  She wrote what they said on this chalk board.  Brett posed by it with Johno and Spencer D., who are Josiah's twin cousins (all born in the same year).

We all met at Caroline's house for a bbq that was super fun.  Perfect weather and lots of chatting.  Here we are...

Troy said he'd take care of dessert.  He did indeed, in a very Troy-ish way.  I laughed out loud.
